I don’t believe an allowance should just be given. Some might think that’s wrong of me, especially being that I literally get money for my child through an adoption subsidy, but I also want him to know the value of money and how to earn it. Anyone who has been a foster parent can tell you that yes it gives you money but it is by no means easy or free money and if the child doesn’t have disabilities it is barely enough to care for the child’s needs, muchless wants. I’m a teacher at heart and allowance helps teach a lot of life and academic lessons.
