The twins’ father, Ronald, wanted everyone to believe he was a charitable benefactor. He donated lofty sums to the arts and the boys’ school. He bought expensive equipment for their school sports teams, new cars for the assistant coaches, and paid the head coach a $1,000 weekly stipend to ensure the twins always played.
