Understanding the four phases of ownership
As we age, our desire for possessions evolves through distinct phases. Little information exists about the four phases we are about to discuss, and I have found no one who has put them together as you are about to read. These intriguing and insightful perspectives offer a fresh look at our desires.
The phases include:
- Dreaming
- Collecting
- Hoarding
- Decluttering
These phases are fluid rather than sequential. You will likely be in more than one phase to varying degrees during your life, and you may skip some altogether.
Let’s examine each phase and ask ourselves some questions to help us better understand where we might want to be.
Dreaming phase
