What fills our lives
Each day, countless things press in on us. Some are necessities, others are desires, and a few are so essential they shape our very existence. What we choose to do with these essentials determines the direction of our lives. In the end, what truly fills us and helps us live at our best?
By stopping to reflect on what matters most, we can begin to see everything in its proper place. Food and relationships are vital. So are caring for and protecting ourselves. Neglecting these is not a minor oversight since they can threaten survival itself.
What about the things we simply want? We can drop most of them at any time with little real loss. In fact, cutting back on certain habits like endless hours of passive entertainment gives us back something priceless: time. To gain more time is to gain more life.
Better still, we can replace non-essentials with pursuits that strengthen us, restore us, and move us closer to our goals. What we let go of or hold onto slowly shapes the life we live.
